What:
- A one-time $2,000 college scholarship
Who is Eligible:
- College-bound, graduating seniors of Minden High School.
- Preference will be given to African-American students and students planning to major in Education, Library Science, or Math. However, all students and those pursuing other majors will also be considered.
- Applicants should have at least a 2.5 GPA.
Application Guidelines:
- Complete the online application form.
- Attach a copy of your acceptance letter confirming your admission to a college or university.
- Write a 250-500 word essay using the following prompt:
Mr. and Mrs. Jones were admired and well-known for making a positive difference in
the lives of their students. How do you wish to use your college education to make an
impact for good in the world?
- Attach two letters of recommendation. At least one should be from a Minden High School teacher. The other letter may be from a teacher or it may be from another community leader (minister, city official, business owner, etc.).
